Welcome to Color It In Boutique!  We're a mother-daughter trio with one simple mission: to help every girl and woman feel confident, beautiful, and celebrated during life's most unforgettable moments. Whether you're shopping for prom, homecoming, or the perfect everyday outfit, we believe finding the right look should be just as memorable as the event itself.

How it all began...

Our story started more than 15 years ago with a small, home-based children's clothing boutique. From unpacking boxes and modeling new arrivals to helping process orders, the girls were just as much a part of the business as Mom. It truly became a family dream.

Along the way, our family moved from West Virginia to Michigan. As the girls grew from ruffled pants into homecoming dresses of their own, we quickly realized something was missing. To find the styles we loved—the sparkle, the glitz, the excitement—we often had to travel back south.

That's when the dream began to take shape.

We envisioned a place where girls could walk through the doors, try on beautiful dresses, laugh with their friends and family, and leave feeling more confident than when they arrived. A boutique where shopping wasn't just another errand—it was an experience.

In 2022, we closed the chapter on our children's boutique. Just one year later, we followed our faith, trusted our hearts, and took the biggest leap of our lives by opening Color It In Boutique. 

The Story Behind Our Name

The name Color It In has a special meaning to our family.

When Keaton was in fourth grade, she begged Mom for a set of fancy colored pens. Mom finally gave in, and just a few days later discovered Keaton had created a handwritten "business ledger." She had been renting the pens to her classmates for 10 cents each!

That little notebook became more than a funny family story—it became a symbol of the entrepreneurial spirit that all three of us share.

Today, that same spirit continues to inspire everything we do. We love building a business together, giving back to our community, and helping every customer see the beauty and confidence in themselves that we already see.

Meet the Founder

Hi! I'm so glad you're here.

I live in Milford, Michigan, with my two favorite girls, Karson and Keaton. I'm a lover of all things color, fashion, creativity, and finding beauty in the little details that make life special.

One of my greatest joys as a girl mom has always been creating memories through life's biggest and smallest moments. From Easter dresses with all the ruffles to matching outfits with their dolls, to celebrating every holiday imaginable (and yes—I mean every holiday!), we never passed up an opportunity for something sparkly, colorful, or over the top.

But it was never really about the clothes.

It was about the excitement of finding the perfect outfit, the conversations in the fitting room, the laughter, the confidence, and the memories we created together. I truly believe the perfect outfit can be so much more than something you wear—it can become part of a story you'll never forget. Thank you for allowing us to be a small part of yours.

Karson

Karson is my first love. She's my perfectionist, my travel buddy, and my shopping partner. She loves all things girly & trending. Her life at Michigan State University as a Social Policy & Public Relations major & friend keeps our time together limited. As it should. But now, Mom can’t wait to enjoy “working” together again as we shop to bring you the best inventory we can! 

Keaton

Keaton is my natural born entrepreneur. She was the sweet little 4th grader who begged & begged for a new set of colored pencils. Weeks later, I found her “rental log," along with her stash of dimes she had been collecting from classmates. Hence, "Color It In." She is my baby and my shadow. She’s headed to college in August to foster her business mindset, and Mom needs to fill her time.

So, here we are—

Our goal is to offer a thoughtfully curated collection of colors, styles, trends, and unique details to help you find a look that's as unforgettable as the moment you're celebrating. We wanted to create more than just a boutique—we wanted to create an experience where you and your friends can laugh, celebrate, and make memories while finding the dress that feels perfectly you.
